          The Maslow scales ‘The Hierarchy of Needs’ (Abraham Maslow-1943) indicate the basic needs for people are; breathing, food, water, sex, sleep homeostatis and excretion.  Maslow also went into much psychological assessment of modern society but for primitive man the basic need was to survive.

 

          This book gives a broad overview of the development of man from that of early hominid and Cave dweller to ‘modern’ man. Concentration is on development of ‘man' through hunting, culture and geographical similarities of other cultures from the ‘Old Stone Age (Neolithic) through each era up until the Mesolithic age which was the dawn of ‘modern man’.
